In 2007, an animated film about “Beowulf” was released which has drawn attention to all “Angelina Jolie” fans out there. I myself is a fan of her who got inspired by most of her entertaining movies.
The first time that I watched this 2007 version of Beowulf movie, I actually never thought that the entire film was animated. My first thought was that, the cast were real humans while the monsters and their actions that defies the laws of physics were the only ones that gotten CGI. Most movies actually does this the reason why it was my first impression.
When I finished watching the film and I went doing some research about it online, I finally came to realized that everything was animated. I still could not believe it so I watched the movie again for the second time. This time around, I was able to distinguish it.
The film makers actually did a great job in making this epic action movie. With my basic knowledge about animation, I can say that they had surely put a lot of time and effort just to produce this masterpiece.
“Grendel” was a giant troll looking monster who enjoyed himself killing the residents of the “Spare Dane kingdom or Heorot” ruled by “king Hrothgar”. He actually eat humans for food but the worst part was that, even when he was already full, this monster will still go on a rampage by having fun killing anyone that he comes across his own path.
He also has a hypersensitive hearing and often gets annoyed by the sound generated by the humans. On the movie, Grendel cried in pain when the kingdom of king Hrothgar had a celebration at the mead hall. This caused the monster to furiously attacked everyone from the feast.
Gladly, a brave hero emerged who fought the monster like he has already done it a couple of times before. Beowulf inflicted a serious wound to Grendel where he ripped off one of its arm who went running for an escape and then cried on his mother’s lap to his death. What I never expected was that, the mother looks exactly the same as Angelina Jolie.
Why it is that such beauty delivered an offspring that was a freak of nature? In the real word, a couple will always bear a child that closely resembles their looks.
Anyway, both Grendel and his mother were not humans but evil beings or creatures. At the near end of the movie, Grendel’s mother true form was revealed which was a huge golden snake. And, she has the power to shape shift to the physical appearance of Angelina Jolie. I always wonder if she can also shape shift to other forms.
When Beowulf went for Grendel's mother as his next target, he made a decision the only himself should enter the golden cave and his close friend Wiglaf waits for him from the outside. Inside was a huge demonic serpent which I already describe above. Based on my opinion, Grendel’s mother does not stand a chance against Beowulf so instead, she used charm and beauty.
As a result, it worked. The mighty Beowulf had fallen into the charming beauty of Angelina Jolie where they had a short secret affair inside the cave. Aside from this, a negotiation was also made between the two.
The mighty slayer succeeded the throne of the Heorot kingdom and under his rulership, his kingdom has grown stronger. Until a day came where a large flying fire-breathing dragon suddenly attacked the village of his people.
Even when he already aged, the old Beowulf was still strong like he was before. The mighty slayer confronted the dragon and killed it but I find it quite sad that he had to die with it.
The dragon was actually Beowulf's own son which was his child that was given birth by the water serpent demon. Grendel was also Hrothgor's son which means that Beowulf simply make the same mistake as the former king.
I thought that Beowulf and the golden serpent will have a fierce battle next after the dragon died. I was expecting that someone or something will revive the fallen hero back to life. Unfortunately, he remained dead making Angelina Jolie the victor at the final end.
However, the cycle remains to continue when Wiglaf who succeeded the throne of the kingdom from Beowulf also got seduced by the beauty and charm of the golden demonic serpent.
